[She has to reach to grasp hold of the doorknob, but it doesn't take long before the door creaks open, revealing a little face framed by familiar wavy hair — and Arnold, standing close by like the good guard dog he is, about as big as Reimi is at this point, himself.
Eyeballing it from height and facial features alone, she's somewhere in the ballpark of six or seven years old — probably not old enough to be answering doors on her own, but certainly old enough to be delighted by the forbidden nature of doing something she's not supposed to, anyway.
Naturally, her eyes go as big as dinner plates as she looks WAAAAAAAAAY up, taking him in from horns all the way down to tail.]
Wow...
[She's gawking. But luckily, after a second she remembers her manners and pulls open the door all the way, bowing deeply.]
Welcome and please come in, Dragon-nii!

Ummm...no.
[It's very possible Rohan is up on the roof screaming into a bag right now, all things considered.]
You want to know something funny? He says he knows my mom! His mom and my mom are friends. They're the Kishibes and they live down my street.
[She thinks a minute, little brow furrowing.]
So maybe he went down the street to see his mom!

I don't know what that tastes like.
[Almost automatically, she takes his hand when it's offered, like this is a very familiar action to her and one that she's accustomed to responding to basically on reflex.]
But if you like it then I'm sure it's good!

[Reimi, for her part, is happy to follow along and attempt to make herself useful, pointing out things that are probably obvious (the kettle is there! cups are in the cupboard!) but that render her marvelously self-important anyway.]
That box there! That's where the cupcakes are!
[It's about half-empty at the moment, but it is indeed a bakery box containing several red velvet cupcakes.]
I would like........two, please!

[ha ha ha a successful attempt at completely spoiling her appetite. all the cupcakes she wants. nice.
Immediately pleased by this success, she hovers around Abbacchio's legs, just barely managing never to get underfoot with the sort of grace that suggests she does this particular brand of hovering a lot.]
I like playing store! I put stuff on the shelves and then when people want to buy it I take the money and ring them up. And outer space starfighter! Did you know astronauts walked on the moon? They went all the way to space in a rocketship. And sometimes I get to play dress-up with Mama's shoes and makeup but I only get to if Mama is watching because one time I put the wrong stuff on my mouth and got in trouble.

Okay! I can wait! I'm good at waiting!
[She crawls up into her chair, folds her hands, and sits patiently at the table like a model child — a course of action that takes a mighty effort, and predictably lasts all of about thirteen seconds.]
It's been a minute now, right?

You've said that before.
[ Nothing tired or annoyed with information she'd been previously given. No, it was just plain old acknowledgement. Letting him know that she took what he said to heart and held it close, tried to learn from it and understand him as well as she could.
That regardless of it, she was on his side. ]
That might be the most accurate thing I've ever heard anyone say. It's hard... for me, for example. To see what someone like Chris could see in me. There are younger and prettier women -- I'm not unattractive but I'm not everyone's taste. My nose and... body, you know? It isn't what's considered... "popular" in terms of attractive women, is all.
[ She's telling him mostly because there's no fear with him. He has a partner and she doesn't expect him to try to hit on her or reassure her in any way but what he feels is right. It's embarrassing to Jill to care at all, though. Face red, eyes downcast. ]
I don't think Gabriel would potentially be interested in me in that sense. It's a little blow to my ego, but it's alright.

I like pink!
[She says, immediately, but luckily discussion of colors has successfully distracted her from thinking about the hot tea, so mission accomplished, probably.]
But not just 'cause I'm a girl. Girls can like more than just pink! I just think pink is nice. Red is nice too! And so is blue! I like lots of colors. And rainbows! Rainbows are all the colors and I like those too!
Do I have to pick just one, though?
