[There is no physical way she is ever going to fit this entire cupcake into her tiny mouth. She'd be hard-pressed to manage it even at full size. But where adulthood breeds sensibility, youth comes with daring, and she is thriving on the invincibility of childhood.
Which is to say, she picks up the cupcake in both hands and proceeds to mash it directly into the entire lower half of her face, squealing a muffled giggle when the icing goes everywhere, the cake portion squashes, and it's a red velvet disaster all around.]
[And he can't help but laugh a little, genuine and warm. Ah, hell, this is what it could have been like, right? Growing up with a sibling. That would've been nice for both of them.]
