When I introduced you to Nanami-san, I mentioned that she was related to one of my classmates. That's the one that just arrived.

I wouldn't have guessed that it would've affected me the way that it has, seeing Fujisaki alive again. Not that it's about my feelings to begin with, but.

Truthfully, I don't remember being particularly sociable toward her, but...her death occurred relatively early in the killing game, so there was less opportunity for it, I suppose.

I was the one who investigated the body, so you can imagine the unusual position that puts me in presently.

Ah. What I meant was...that was one of my regrets. That I didn't try harder to connect with my classmates back then, and by the time I knew better, it was already too late for Fujisaki-san.

My impulse is to take responsibility and protect Fujisaki-san as much as I can. But...I'm trying to be friendly for the sake of friendship, too.

monteverdi's are my favorites, but in particular the one i always go back to is l'orfeo
it's basically an opera about orpheus even though the names are a little different
orfeo basically being orpheus for example
it comes in five acts so it's long but god the music
i'd share it if it could but i don't have anything from home here

Why does that one in particular speak to you?

If I were being difficult, I would draw a conclusion of my own. But as a friend, I would like to hear you explain it for yourself.

no, it's more like
an opera is such an unabashed expression of the self. loud and full of character. usually it's dark and difficult, but bittersweet.
this one in particular, maybe it's because i always found the subject of love to be hard but relatable.

And it's important to listen to the overture, because that's where you'll hear all the leitmotifs that will come into play later?

I assume the opera ends the same way the story it's based on does. Orpheus doesn't succeed in his aims because of his own failings, and perishes later from his sorrow.
